The rates of Community-associated MRSA, or CA-MRSA are growing fast. CA-MRSA skin infections have been identified among certain populations that share close quarters or experience more skin-to-skin contact, such as team athletes.
It's also infecting much younger people. Today, the average age of a person with CA-MRSA is only 23.
THE CLEANING PROCESS
Step 1 - The equipment
Drop off your equipment any drop zone or schedule a pick up. We will inspect your equipment, record items to be cleaned and provide you with a receipt. Your complete order is placed into a numbered red plastic bag ready for loading into the wash system.
Wet Wash Process:
Step 2 - Loading
Your protective equipment is loaded into a mesh garment bag, which safely secures your gear during the cleaning and sanitizing process. Each piece of gear is placed into pockets in the bag which limit movement and provide added protection over standard agitation-type washing machines. Special attention is given to ensure that your equipment is positioned in the bag pockets to provide the best cleaning results. With items such as jerseys, where agitation is desired, goods are placed in specially designed plastic inserts which create a tumbling action during machine cycles to achieve a complete cleaning. Presoaking of heavily soiled items, like gloves, is often performed.
Step 3 - Cleaning
The scientifically designed machine contains eight individual steel cages. Your equipment, securely held in the mesh bag, is then placed into one of the eight compartments. This further controls movement, protecting your equipment during the cleaning process. The system goes through a series of wash, rinse, and extract cycles before the final drying process. All stages are microprocessor controlled to guarantee a consistent and thorough cleaning every time. Water temperature and drum rotation speed are strictly regulated to protect the glues and plastics of your equipment. The system uses advanced detergents, disinfectants and a finishing fragrance to ensure that your products are professionally cleaned. This includes the forced disinfectant which effectively eliminates 99.9997% of bacteria and fungus from the equipment.
Step 4 - Drying
Your equipment comes out smelling fresh and clean. The equipment has approximately 10% moisture content at this stage to keep leathers soft and prevent overheating of plastics used in the equipment. A final stage on the finishing rack and the equipment is ready to be returned to the player for the next big game.
What We Use To Clean
TAK 1: An enzyme based detergent produced by non-pathogenic bacteria designed to break down protein oils such as sweat, blood, proteins and fungi. It also destroys the food source of pathogenic bacteria such as staphylococcus.
PENETRATOR: A synergistic blend of detergents, detergent builders, water-soluble solvents, and optical enhancing brighteners. The detergent builders and buffered alkalinity maintain an optimum pH of 9.5.
FORCE: A built-in sour plus a disinfectant that contains peroxyacetic acid and other oxygen-based bleaching agents. Force is proven effective in killing all bacteria including staphylococcus aureus, viruses, and mold spores with 99.9997% efficacy.
SIGNATURE FRAGRANCE: Implants a fresh odor to the garment. This special formulation is made up of a combination of 140 different natural oil extracts.
DRY BARRIER WASH (DBW): DBW is a revolutionary product that treats garments with a specially formulated polymer that penetrates into the very fibers of the garment. This treatment bonds to the fabric providing a fluid repellent barrier. Once treated, the garments stay cleaner and last longer.
LEATHER CONDITIONER: A special leather conditioner is added containing Lanolin and other emollients to restore natural sheen and softness to leather articles. The leather conditioner is formulated with UV inhibitors to protect leather from the harmful effects of the sun. It prevents drying and cracking and keeps leather looking new.
TKO PRESOAK: Designed as a pre-soak for heavier stains, TKO contains a concentrated powder detergent, water softening agents, anionic and non-ionic detergent builders, optical brighteners and a synergistic blend of enzymes to cover a wide range of soils. Its purpose is to brighten whites and assist in the removal of heavy soils and stains.
OIL PRESOAK: An industrial laundry pre-soak solution that aggressively loosens dissolves and suspends heavy oil deposits from fabrics. Also lifts and suspends light soils and greases, preventing these substances from re-depositing onto the fabric before they are rinsed clean.
STAIN REMOVER KITS: Oil and Grease, Cosmetic Stain Remover, Protein Stain Remover, Rust Stain Remover and Puck Mark Stain Remover are additional products providing a complete process of cleaning even the most difficult items.
Ozone Process:
Super Clean's ozone process only takes 15 minutes and we can either operate the machine at our shop in Gardena or we can bring our METS truck to you and sanitize your gear on-site. We load your gear into the ozone machine, close the door and run the cycle. The machine emits ozone, a naturally occurring gas, which circulates around your equipment, killing the bacteria. Once the cycle is complete, your equipment is returned to you bacteria-free and smelling a lot better than when you gave it to us. The process does not involve water so your gear does not need time to dry.
