National Athletic Trainers Association Posts Statement in Light of Recent MRSA News
The National Athletic Trainers Association posted its recommendations on how to prevent and reduce the onset of MRSA both on and off the field of athletic competition. Proper prevention and management recommendations include the proper washing of athletic gear. In addition, the NATA suggests that when an athlete or trainer suspects MRSA, he or she should seek immediate medical attention and encourage healthcare officials to take a bacterial culture to make a proper diagnosis.
